Purposeful Initiatives in 3D Printing

3D printing can provide authentic opportunities for hands-on, constructivist approach to learning across different subject areas. Combined with design-based challenges, teachers can use this tool to help children develop empathy and creative problem solving.

In this session, participants will:

  • See examples of 3D printing in action

  • Design a 3D model using TinkerCad (you will need a laptop for this activity)

  • Learn about opportunities for collaboration and service learning, specifically the eNable community that assembles 3D printed prosthetic devices for people with disabilities.
